We’ve got great news for you if you love to ’put things up’ for the winter. Can you say – PICK YOUR OWN. Yes, our farm also provides pick your own for the following vegetables.

The above prices reflect you coming and going into the fields, to pick whichever one of these crops you are looking to acquire. You can bring your own containers 1/2 bushel or Full bushel baskets; OR, we can provide such for measuring purposes. Upon completion of picking, you will drive back up to the wagon, where you will pay for your veggies. As our baskets are a priceless commodity, we will provide boxes for you to transfer your produce into. If you have brought your own “other” containers to transport the produce home in AFTER PICKING, that is fine – and you can then transfer it to those said containers. At this time, we will also check the veggies you have picked. Please do not be offended – but we have had issues with folks taking things they did not pay for. This also allows us to keep our prices at such an affordable rate, so we appreciate your understanding in this.
Our PICK YOUR OWN hours are as follows: Monday & Tuesday - Fields closed (no picking)
Wednesday – Sunday - Fields open 9:30 to 4:00
Regarding our hours, on Monday & Tuesday, we give the fields a chance to recooperate from all the weeks picking, and get caught up with more ripening. So our fields will be open Wednesday through Sunday. Pickers will be allowed in the field AFTER 9:30 am, not before,as we are in the fields picking for the stand. Up until 5:00pm is when we allow folks to go out and pick, AFTER 4:00pm, no one is allowed out, so that pickers will have ample time to finish by closing time at 6:00pm.
We suggest that you give a call before heading over to the Farm, just to make sure of the availability of the particular produce you wish to pick. Here’s our number 860-655-3211.
Also,PICKING IS DIRTY – BUSINESS! May we suggest wearing old shoes, and old clothes. The fields are dusty and dirty, and the tomato patch is very GREEN. You don’t want to stain your favorite shoes and clothes.
Pick Your Own is a fun way to spend time with the family – from the adventure of picking in the field, to the art of canning and freezing . We see generations come and share the experience – It’s a great way to make memories last all winter.
NOTE: If you would rather opt for us to pick an order for you, that is an option as well. See the article on Picked Orders.
